Rachnakaar Talent Awards are open to all young artists in India aged 6 to 21 — regardless of school, state, language, or financial background. There are no qualifying rounds or prior experience requirements. If you have a creative work to submit, you are eligible.
For artists aged 21 and above, the Honours of Excellence is available by nomination only. You cannot self-apply for Honours — nominations must come from schools, academies, cultural institutions, or the public via our nominations form.
Yes. The participation fee for Rachnakaar Talent Awards is ₹300 per entry. This fee covers jury evaluation, digital certificate issuance, and operational costs. Payment instructions are sent by email after your form is submitted — you do not need to pay during the application process.
Schools registering groups of 10 or more students may contact us for bulk pricing. Nominations for Honours of Excellence carry no fee.
Rachnakaar accepts work across three broad domains with multiple sub-categories:
Performing Arts: Classical Dance, Folk Dance, Contemporary Dance, Vocal Classical Music, Vocal Folk Music, Instrumental Music, Theatre, and Mono-Acting.
Literature: Poetry, Short Stories, Articles, Essays/Prose, and Recitation (spoken word).
Visual Arts: Drawing/Sketching, Painting, Traditional Art (Madhubani, Warli, Pattachitra, etc.), and Craft.
Each domain is judged by jurors with expertise in that specific field.
Literature submissions are accepted in any language listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, plus English. This includes Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu, Assamese, and more.
For Performing Arts and Visual Arts, language is not applicable — submissions are evaluated on the art itself.
All form fields (personal details, title, description) should be filled in English for consistency, but the creative work itself can be in any supported language.
Award results are announced in two phases. Shortlisted candidates are notified within 14–21 days of submission. The final results and ceremony dates are announced quarterly and published on the Rachnakaar website and social media channels.
Winners receive digital certificates immediately upon announcement. Physical awards and medals are dispatched by post for Kishore Samman and above, and distributed at regional ceremonies where available.
You can track your submission status at any time from your Creator Dashboard.
Yes. Schools, academies, and cultural organisations can register as Institutional Partners and submit entries on behalf of multiple students from a single school account. Group submissions are managed through a dedicated School Portal.
Institutional partners receive a consolidated result report, school-level recognition on the Rachnakaar website, and access to priority support for result queries. To register your institution, visit the Membership page or contact us directly at partnerships@rachnakaar.com.
The Honours of Excellence is Rachnakaar's highest recognition — awarded to individuals aged 21 and above who have made a significant and enduring contribution to Indian arts, literature, music, dance, or cultural heritage. It is a lifetime honour, not an annual competition.
Recipients are selected entirely by nomination. Any person, institution, or cultural body may nominate a deserving candidate. The Rachnakaar jury evaluates all nominations and may also initiate nominations independently based on public impact assessments.
To nominate someone, visit the Nominate page. Self-nominations are not accepted for this award.
Our jury reviews all submissions within 14–21 days of receiving payment confirmation. The review process involves a minimum of two independent jurors per submission, with a senior panel resolving any disagreements.
Submissions that are shortlisted proceed to a final panel review, which may take an additional 7–10 days. You will receive a status update email at each stage. All decisions made by the Rachnakaar jury are final and binding.
If you have not received any communication within 30 days of payment, please contact us through the My Space section or email jury@rachnakaar.com.
