How to Participate

Five simple steps to submit your creation and compete for a Rachnakaar Talent Award. Takes less than 10 minutes. Open to ages 6–21 across all art forms and languages.

Before you begin

Rachnakaar Talent Awards are open to all young artists across India, ages 6–21. Participation fee is ₹300 — payment details are shared after form submission. You can submit in any Indian language or English.

Choose Your Age Group

Your age determines which Samman you will compete for. Enter your date of birth or age and the system will automatically map you to the correct award category — Nanhe Ratna (6–9), Baal Samman (10–13), Kishore Samman (14–17), or Yuvashree Samman (18–21). Artists 21 and above can be nominated for Honours of Excellence through the separate nominations form.

Use your actual age as of the submission date.
If you enter your date of birth, age is calculated automatically.
Age determines both the award category and certain submission rules.

Rachnakaar accepts submissions across three broad domains: Performing Arts (dance, music, drama), Literature (poetry, short stories, articles, essays, recitation), and Visual Arts (drawing, painting, traditional art, craft). Choose the one that best represents your submission. You can only submit in one genre per application — submit multiple entries for multiple genres.

Performing Arts includes dance, vocal music, instrumental music, and drama/mono-acting.
Literature includes any written or spoken word creation.
Visual Arts includes 2D and 3D art, digital art, and traditional forms like Madhubani.

After choosing your genre, select the specific sub-category (for example, Classical Dance or Folk Music within Performing Arts). For Literature submissions, you will also need to specify the language — Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, English, or any other Indian language. Performing Arts and Visual Arts submissions are language-independent.

For Performing Arts: sub-categories include Classical, Folk, and Contemporary dance; Vocal Classical, Vocal Folk, and Instrumental music; Theatre and Mono-acting.
For Literature: submit in the language in which the work was originally composed.
Language will be shown to jury members who are fluent in that language.

Fill Your Details

Provide your personal information: full name, school or college, city, state, and contact details. For participants under 18, a parent or guardian name and contact information is also required. All information is kept private and is used only to notify you of results and to coordinate the award ceremony. No data is shared with third parties.

Guardian details (name, phone, email) are mandatory for participants under 18.
A valid mobile number and email address are required for result communication.
City and state are used for regional recognition and record-keeping.

Upload Your Creation

Upload the file of your creative work along with a title and a short description (30–500 characters). For Performing Arts, upload an MP4 video (max 100MB). For Visual Arts, upload a JPEG or PNG image (max 10MB). For Literature, upload a TXT or PDF file (max 5MB). Participants 14+ submitting in Literature must confirm their work is original. Once submitted, your entry goes directly to our jury.

Video: .mp4 format, maximum 100MB. Ensure clear audio and good lighting.
Image: .jpg or .png, maximum 10MB. Photograph artwork in daylight for best quality.
Text: .txt or .pdf, maximum 5MB. Ensure the file is readable and not password-protected.
Original work declaration is mandatory for Literature entries by ages 14 and above.
